Do digital cameras lose photo quality over time?

motion backgrounds
Mandi H asked:

I have had a fuji finepix cameral for about 4 1/2 yrs now, and it has been great until recently. Most of my pics are coming out less than sharp. I was always very happy with them in the past. Do digital cameras wear out over time? Or is there another explanation? I checked my settings & they all look the same as always. I am even using a new memory card. Sometimes, I will have taken 5 or so pics in a row, in the same setting, and maybe 2 will look great, and the others will be fuzzy - not like motion - even the background is out of focus.
Any suggestions?

  2. maybe it’s because the new cameras are better quality, so yours seems worse.

  3. No they don’t, but you might want to clean the lens

  4. It also depends on how you take it. Sometimes you don’t have a good grip on the camera, or you didn’t press the button too well, therefore causing the quality to look bad in some pictures compared to some great pictures.

  5. The auto-focus mechanism may not be working quite right. Take it into a local repair station and see if they can help you. You may find it less expensive to purchase a newer camera with many more features and a higher pixel count on the sensor.
