Can a Mini DVD camcorder be downloaded via firewire?

I don’t have a mini dvd camera but my son does, we know to finalize in order to view on a reg dvd player and to rip the mini dvd once it’s finalized but can you just download the mini dvd straight from the camera to the pc via a firewire cord as is the case of my mini dv camcorder. Just curious.

  1. No, you can’t - MiniDVD camcorders don’t have a firewire interface. You can transfer the video via the AV cable if you’re really keen on making life difficult for yourself, but you’re already doing it the best way.
